Before starting sharpening, make sure that the water flow of the water-cooling system is properly working. Then, start cutting into the dressing stone. After the first pass, move the sharpening stone a little bit and cut again.
Repeat the process and shift the dressing stone between one pass and another so that you won’t be cutting into the same groove. Depending on the condition of the blade, you will need to perform from 3 to 10 passes. Check after each pass and determine when it is sharp again.
