If you are looking for an asphalt cutting blade, the first thing you need to know is that a standard or “general-purpose” blade will not get the work done. Asphalt is softer than other surfaces or materials like granite or concrete, meaning that soft bonded blades are not effective. You will need an asphalt cutter blade with a hard bond. The ideal one is an asphalt diamond blade.
For small projects, you can use a circular saw with an asphalt saw blade to cut small pieces. Remember that getting a saw blade for asphalt is as important as the whole equipment.
With asphalt blades you can make deeper, longer and straight cuts. If you do not want to make straight cuts, you could also use an electric chipping hammer and remove small parts of the asphalt. However, a proper asphalt blade is easier to use and will provide cleaner and softer cuts.
