When it comes to utility, versatility, price and convenience, it’s hard to beat an angle grinder. These compact, handheld tools make quick work of a variety of otherwise tedious or labor-intensive tasks. And when you fit them with the correct angle grinder discs, coated with a mix of diamond particles and soft metal bond, this tool can solve quite a few tricky problems faced by masons, tile professionals and amateurs tackling a DIY household project.

SIMA is one of the leading angle grinder cutting blade manufacturers in the UK and Europe

Our angle grinder cutting blades are specially designed for dry cutting of masonry materials:

- Concrete
- Granite
- Marble
- Brick
- Abrasive Materials
- Ceramics & Glazed Tiles
- Porcelain
- Universal & General Purpose

We offer two ranges of angle grinder blades, PLUS and PREMIUM, in several different sizes ranging from 4” in diameter to 9” in diameter depending on the model. A “silent” multipurpose angle grinder diamond blade is also available if noise is a major concern for you.

Using an Angle Grinder with a Diamond Blade

Just like with masonry saws and tile saws, an angle grinder with a diamond blade can cut through materials ranging from marble to porcelain to reinforced concrete. What makes these tools so special, though, is their ability to easily make cuts that are complicated or even impossible to do on a bench saw. For example, it is not uncommon to have to make rectangular cut-outs in floor or wall tile to fit around electrical outlets and other obstacles.

An angle grinder fitted with a concrete blade is also useful for scoring or making notches in concrete that has already been poured and dried. Some people use this technique to dress up a boring concrete slab patio or driveway. Angle grinder diamond blades can also help to quickly remove old mortar from between bricks without causing damage to the bricks themselves.

Notes on Dry Cutting with Angle Grinder Blades

Our SIMA Plus and SIMA Premium diamond blades for angle grinders are all designed specifically for dry cutting. Always remember that dry-cut blades can be used for wet cutting, but not the other way around. Dry cutting requires a few extra steps to protect the operator, people nearby, the tool and the blade itself:

- Work in well-ventilated areas

- Close nearby windows if working outside

- Wear proper safety gear

- Use a respirator mask

- Make short, shallow cuts

- Allow the blade to cool frequently
